what it is

NIGHTFALLCOIN (NIGHT) is a privacy Layer-1 written from scratch, not a fork. Amounts are hidden behind Pedersen commitments and range proofs, addresses never touch the chain, and the total supply can be verified by anyone — a Mimblewimble design. Proof of work is argon2id with 32 MiB of memory per hash, which keeps it on CPUs. Fair launch, zero premine. NurseryPool is an independent third-party pool for it.

how to create a wallet

the browser wallet quickest, nothing to install:

Open nightfallcoin.org/wallet. It runs on your own device, creates a wallet in a few seconds and hands you an address. You can also install it as an app from your browser menu.

write down the 24 words your only backup:

The wallet shows you a 24-word recovery phrase. Put it on paper. Not a screenshot, not a chat, not an email. Anyone holding those words holds your coins, and nobody can reset them for you.

There is also a command-line wallet shipped with the node, which keeps a seed file instead. It has no import command, so a 24-word phrase cannot be restored into it. Pick the one you want before you start accumulating.

your address where the pool pays you:

It starts with nf1 and is 139 characters long. NIGHTFALLCOIN addresses never touch the chain: the pool derives a one-time key for each payout, so nobody can link your payments together.

A wallet living in a browser disappears with its cache. The 24 words are what survives, so keep them somewhere you would keep a key.
